FTP Voyager is the most powerful FTP client program for Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP on the market. With an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, FTP Voyager lets you update a Web site with a single click, transfer files directly between FTP servers, and resume interrupted downloads. As far as FTP clients go, Core FTP Lite is one of the most comprehensive out there. It allows you to do pretty much anything that you can do with FTP transfers. It features everything from SFTP (SSH), SSL, TLS, IDN, browser integration, site to site transfers to FTP transfer resume, drag and drop support and command line transfers.
So now that you have Cyberduck installed, the next step is to get connected and start transferring files.Cyberduck makes it easy to get going. To connect to an FTP server, you need only topress one button!
The New Connection Button
To begin, click the Open Connection button on the toolbar. You'll need to enter in a few detailsto get connected:
- Protocol: We recommend you use SFTP.
- Username: The user name for your FTP server.
Click the Connect button to connect to your account.
Here's an example of what the connection to your ExaVault account would look like:
- Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
- Username:
bobsmith - Password: (You should never post your password online!)
You should know that Cyberduck supports other transfer protocols,but SFTP is what we at ExaVault recommend.
Unknown Host Prompts
The first time that you log on to an SFTP server, Cyberduck will prompt you about about an unknown host key. This prompt is part of the SSH protocol – and it's just Cyberduck telling you that it doesn't know anything about the server. Cyberduck keeps a list of 'known' (and therefore trusted)servers.
Click the 'Always' checkbox and then click the 'Allow' button so that your ExaVault account is trusted by Cyberduck.
You'll know you are connected when you see a list of files in the Cyberduck Browser window.

Transferring Files and Using the Browser Window
The Browser window is the main part of the application window in Cyberduck. The folders and filesthat you see in the Browser window can be thought of as a Finder (Mac) or Explorer (PC) window for your FTP server. Therefore,transferring files with Cyberduck simply involves dragging files from one window to another.
Mac:
- Finder will show the files on your computer.
- Cyberduck's Browser window shows the files on your FTP server.
Windows:
- Windows Explorer will show the files on your computer.
- Cyberduck's Browser window shows the files on your FTP server.
Uploading Files
To upload files:
- Drag the selected file(s) to the Browser window in Cyberduck.
Downloading Files
To download files:
- Drag the selected file(s) to the Finder / Windows Explorer window.

Managing Files with the Browser Window
Managing files with Cyberduck's Browser window is a snap.
- If you have a multi-button mouse, you can right-click to quick access to file management commands.
- If you have the standard Mac mouse, you can hold down the CTRL button while you click to get at the right-click commands.
You can also use the Cyberduck menus: Facebook messenger desktop.
Creating Folders
To create new folders on the FTP server:
- Select New Folder.
- Enter the name of your new folder.
As a suggestion, you should avoid using s p a c e s in folder names.
Moving Files
To move files on the FTP server:
- Click the Edit menu and select Cut.
- Double-click on the folder you want to move the files to.
Cyberduck makes it all easy: you can also use the drag and drop method described above to move fileson the ExaVault server.
Disconnecting
Quake champions beta date. To disconnect from your FTP server, just click the Disconnect button on the toolbar.

Cyberduck supports the following protocols for connecting to your ExaVault account:
- SFTP
Cyberduck also offers support for WebDAV connections. However ExaVault does not support the use of WebDAV connections.

EmailNameBern-based developer iterate GmbH has released CyberDuck 4.5, a major update to its Windows and Mac FTP and cloud-storage browser tool. This open-source tool provides users with a user-friendly means of browsing FTP/SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage and Rackspace Cloud Files servers.
Version 4.5 restores support for Microsoft's Azure Blob Storage connections, adds a new SSH/SFTP protocol implementation and adds support for updating Windows users via the Taskbar's Notification area.
Support for Azure Blob Storage connections was originally dropped in version 4.3 over a year ago alongside Google Drive and Dropbox, so its return is likely to be met with favor from users of the Microsoft storage system.
The new SSH/SFTP protocol implementation makes it possible for users to get public key authentication over SFTP using both OpenSSH agents (Mac) and Pageant (Windows). Also added is support for GZIP compression along with ECDSA public key authentication.
The new build also adds support for mutual two-way TLS connections over secured FTP and HTTPS (WebDAV). Users will now be prompted to select their certificate with private key when the server requests such a client certificate for authentication. Users can find these certificates within the Windows Certificate Manager or OS X Keychain.
Linux Cyberduck
One other change sees Windows users now able to receive notifications via the system tray. The release also fixes a number of bugs, including one that led to a broken pipe with uploads to Amazon S3 services, along with a 404 error response when downloading folders from S3 or OpenStack Swift.
One final fix should see users no longer repeatedly prompted to provide a private key password over SFTP.
CyberDuck 4.5 is available now as a free, open-source download for Windows and Mac. Users are encouraged to donate to ensure the continued development of the software, or can alternatively purchase the Mac version for $23.99 through the Mac App Store.
